Dust
18 Jun 2010
Would you be interested in synth-ing piano samples into... everything? I mean, replicate other instrumental sounds with synth-modified piano.
Someone goes up into a dusty old attic because they hear some odd noises. There's nothing there, just an old piano. Could it be that the piano made the noise? They take off the dust cover and sit down and start to play...
and they can't stop. They are forced by something they can't explain to play. The player grows weak from exhaustion, thin and tired, playing for hours and days and weeks and months. Eventually they succumb, and collapse... into dust.

You are a fluffy, white and very pampered male cat named Florence. You spend your days lounging by the window sill, drinking in the warm rays of the sunlight, or eating the food your pet offers you in return for your fifteen years of noble companionship. You have spent the day relaxing and enjoying being worshiped by your pet when your pet's mate brings home a new puppy. This will cut the attention they give you in half. The song would be Florence's thoughts on the matter.

My request is a little bit different from normal, but something I hope fits your style. I'd like this song to be made nearly entirely of 'found sound' from your area- anything from creaking doors to engines to halogen lights to wind. The theme is up to you, but to get you started I might suggest day/night cycles. Lyrics as necessary.

Diablo ex Machina

I'm looking for something you might imagine hearing while spelunking the core of some kind of Asimovian planetary computer, or perhaps I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream's computer.
That said, and despite the name, it isn't necessarily about a malevolent evil machine, though. Just an enormous, powerful, and inhuman one. It wouldn't torture you, but neural vivisection isn't out of the question.
